Energy Metabolites as Biomarkers in Ischemic and Dilated Cardiomyopathy

چکیده
With more than 25 million people affected, heart failure (HF) is a global threat. As energy production pathways are known to play pivotal role in HF, we sought here identify key metabolic changes ischemic- and non-ischemic HF by using multi-OMICS approach. Serum metabolites mRNAseq epigenetic DNA methylation profiles were analyzed from blood left ventricular biopsy specimens of the same individuals. In total collected serum n = 82 patients with Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM) 51 controls screening stage. We identified several involved glycolysis citric acid cycle be elevated up 5.7-fold DCM (p 1.7 × 10?6). Interestingly, cardiac mRNA genes encoding rate-limiting enzymes these could also found validated our second stage metabolite assessment 52 DCM, 39 ischemic 57 controls. conclusion, new set metabolomic biomarkers for HF. able underlying biological cascades that potentially represent suitable intervention targets.

serum zinc level in dilated and ischemic cardiomyopathy
background: serum trace element alteration has been reported in dilated and ischemic cardiomyopathy. the reports were controversial. we have studied serum zinc level in cardiomyopathy patients in northern province of mazandaran and compared them with healthy volunteers. methods: serum zinc level was measured in 30 ischemic and 18 dilated cardiomyopathy patients against 27 healthy volunteers. it...
متن کاملCirculating microRNAs as novel biomarkers for dilated cardiomyopathy.
BACKGROUND Circulating microRNAs (miRNAs) potentially carry disease-specific information. In the current study, we aim to characterize the miRNA signature in plasma from dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) patients and assess the possible correlation between expression levels of circulating miRNAs and symptom severity in DCM patients. METHODS Using microarray-based miRNA expression profiling, we com...
متن کاملThe value of myocardial perfusion imaging in differentiating between idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy from the ischemic form [Persian]
Introduction: Differentiating between ischemic cardiomyopathy (ICM) and idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy (IDCM) is important as coronary revascularization can improve prognosis in the ischemic subgroup. Due to inherent problems of coronary angiography in patients with depressed ejection fraction (EF) introducing a noninvasive tool to diagnose those who will benefit from angiography seems...
متن کاملParameters of Right Ventricle as etiological distinction between ischemic and non-ischemic dilated cardiomyopathy
Background Dilated left ventricular volumes (VE) is one of the main factors of poor cardiovascular prognosis with systolic dysfunction. Myocardial fibrosis detected by late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) on cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) has been recognized in recent years as an independent prognostic factor in dilated cardiomyopathy, in addition to guiding the etiological diagnosis, and most o...
متن کاملMyocardial energy metabolism in dilated cardiomyopathy
Dilated cardiomyopathy can be broadly defined as heart failure with an enlarged left ventricular chamber, but with no evidence of ischemic heart disease or myocardial infarction. Recent studies from patients and animal models show that dilated cardiomyopathy results in a decrease in myocardial content of adenosine-50-triphosphate (ATP) and phosphocreatine and a decrease in the capacity for mito...
